ABOUT THE FILMMAKER

Puneet, hailing from a robust theatre background in Chandigarh, embarked on a cinematic journey to Pune, honing his filmmaking skills at the esteemed Film & Television Institute of India, setting the stage for a dynamic career in the entertainment industry.

 

In 2005, he made Mumbai his creative playground, stepping into the world of feature and ad films as an Assistant Director. Puneet's portfolio boasts collaborations on notable projects like Farhan Akhtar's "Don," Ashutosh Gowariker's "Jodhaa Akbar," Zoya Akhtar's "Luck By Chance," David Dhawan's "Hook Ya Crook," and Danis Tanovic's "Tigers," among others.

 

Turning his lens towards commercials in January 2016, Puneet showcased his directorial prowess, crafting compelling narratives for leading brands nationally and internationally. His commercial repertoire includes collaborations with Lakmé, LG, Knorr, Lacto Calamine, Royal Challenge, and the iconic Coca-Cola.

 

Beyond the world of commercials, Puneet showcased his creative flair as a Creative Director for the Food & Travel series, "Gourmet Goes Tribal," shot in the culturally rich North Eastern states of India.

 

The highlight in Puneet's directorial journey is his debut feature film, "Ginny Weds Sunny," starring Yami Gautam and Vikrant Massey, which made its global debut on Netflix in October 2020.

 

While continuing his strides in commercial direction, Puneet is currently gearing up for his next feature film, collaborating with one of Mumbai's highly reputed production houses.

Puneet's forte lies in his profound understanding of the technical intricacies of filmmaking, coupled with a keen aesthetic sense. Having honed his craft under the mentorship of esteemed storytellers nationally and internationally, Puneet possesses an impeccable command over story, narrative, and character development.
